    Here are all the Fort Collins athletes competing in the 2024 Paris Olympics

    Northern Colorado is well represented in the Paris Olympics.

    The 2024 Olympic Games are underway and a handful of local ties will be competing.

    There are two athletes raised in the Fort Collins area who will compete, plus another three who starred in college at Colorado State. For CSU, it means the Rams have been represented at every summer Olympics since 1972.

    Here is a look at the local ties in Paris and when they will compete.

    Lauren Gale, Canada

    The former CSU track and field runner is in her second Olympics, set to represent Canada in the sprints.

    She will compete in the 400-meter race and in the 4X400 relay as well.

    Here's the 400 schedule:

    • Qualifying rounds begin at 3:55 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5.
    • Semifinals are at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7.
    • The final is at noon, Friday, Aug. 9.

    The first round of the 4X400 is at 2:40 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9. The final is at 1:20 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10.

    Mostafa Hassan, Egypt

    The former CSU star shot put thrower is back for his second go in the Olympics.

    He will compete in the men's shot put. The shot put qualifying round begins at 12:10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2. The finals begin at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3.

    Gian Clavell, Puerto Rico

    The former CSU men's basketball star helped Puerto Rico qualify for the Olympics.

    Puerto Rico is in Group C with South Sudan, Serbia and the United States.

    Here is Puerto Rico's group stage game schedule:

    • Sunday, July 28, 3 a.m. vs. South Sudan
    • Wednesday, July 31, 9:15 a.m. vs. Serbia
    • Saturday, Aug. 3, 9:15 a.m. vs. United States

    Olivia Cummins, United States

    The Fort Collins native and Colorado Mesa student will represent the Americans in road cycling. Cummins is in her first Olympics.

    Her competition doesn't begin until August, with the team pursuit getting underway Aug. 6 and the final for that event Aug. 7.

    Sophia Smith, United States

    The Windsor native and Fossil Ridge graduate will help lead the line for the Americans in women's soccer . Smith had an assist in USA's first game of the tournament on Thursday.

    Here is the schedule for the U.S., with times listed in Mountain Time:

    • July 25: U.S. 3. Zambia 0
    • July 28: U.S. vs. Germany, 1 p.m. (USA Network)
    • July 31: U.S. vs. Australia, 11 a.m. (USA Network)
    • Quarterfinals: Aug. 3
    • Semifinals: Aug. 6
    • Bronze medal match: Aug. 9
    • Gold medal match: Aug. 10
