Wheat Ridge police use drones to scope out scenes, enhance public safety
WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — The Wheat Ridge Police Department is now using drones on various calls as an extra tool to enhance safety. “Every call in every case is an opportunity to say, ‘Does it make sense to get a drone involved?’” said Public Information Officer Alex Rose.
Denver Man Charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder in Assault on Elderly Mother
A Denver man has been taken into custody for the alleged assault on his mother, which has since escalated to a charge of attempted first-degree murder. Lynard Edward Hunter, 58, called 911 on Friday night to report that he had attacked his 77-year-old mother at their North Little Egypt Road residence, as confirmed by authorities. According to a statement obtained by WSOC-TV, it was Hunter himself who informed the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office of the incident, leading to his arrest on the scene.

More than 10 months after suffering a torn patella tendon, Broncos safety Caden Sterns won't be ready for the start of training camp. The Broncos on Sunday placed Sterns on the physically unable to perform list, meaning he won't take the field for this week's start of camp. Sterns was hurt in the Sept. 10 opener against the Las Vegas Raiders and sat out the rest of the season with the knee injury. He did not take part in offseason drills.
