Obituary – Peggy Darlene Simmons Reid

Peggy Darlene Simmons Reid, a resident of Fort Deposit, passed away on Sunday, July 14,, at the age of 83.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 19, beginning at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Dunklin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Myrtlewood Cemetery in Fort Deposit. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning 10 a.m. until service time.

Peggy was preceded in death by her father Dayton Oree Simmons, Sr.; mother Estelle Sirmon Simmons; son David Ronald Watts; brothers Dayton Simmons, Jr., Donald Joseph Simmons; and William Warren Simmons; sister Betty Jean Craig; mother-in-law Callie Holmes Reid and father-in-law George Julian Reid.

She is survived by her husband Clive Alexander Reid; sons George (April) Reid and Scott (Elizabeth) Reid; daughter Susan Darlene Keebler; sister Sylvia Owens; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Peggy loved and found joy in the simple things in life, caring for her family, her church, being outdoors, flower gardening and birdwatching. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
