Cape Coral police issue 47 citations during impaired driving operation
CAPE CORAL, Florida — The Cape Coral Police Department conducted an impaired driving enforcement operation on July 25, 2024, resulting in 47 total citations. The operation, named "Drink Responsibly on National Refreshment Day," took place citywide from 6 p.m. to midnight. Officers conducted 54 traffic stops, issuing 20 warnings, 18 speed citations, 31 moving citations, and 12 non-moving citations. Additionally, there were four criminal citations, one DUI arrest, and three other arrests, according to a press release from the Cape Coral Police Department.
