Pierz shuts out Little Falls
The Pierz and Little Falls Legion baseball teams end the season with a face -off at Hellie Field Tuesday, July 16. Pierz shut out Little Falls 2-0. Pierz’ runs were scored by Nathan Solinger and Reese Young. RBIs were hit by Kaden Kruschek and Kyle Winscher. Chase Becker led the team on the mound, throwing seven strikeouts and allowed one walk. Young pitched one inning, throwing one strikeout. Little Falls’ Joey Welinski, Braxten Santela and Charlie Smieja all pitched on the mound, throwing a total of five strikeouts and allowed three hits. At the plate, Alex Thoma went 2-3 with a double. Welinski followed with a single. Pierz finished the game with two errors and Little Falls ended up with none. Both teams had three hits. Postseason for both teams will start Monday, July 29.
Football schedules released for the 2024 season
Despite Fall still being a couple months away the football season is just above the horizon. As everyone waits to watch their favorite teams on the gridiron, the the Little Falls Flyers and Pierz Pioneers have released their 2024 football schedules.
