    Outlaws Erase 3-Run Deficit to Defeat Fort Smith 5-4

    JOPLIN, MO — The Joplin Outlaws faced off against the Fort Smith Marshals in a doubleheader earlier today. They took game one 5-4.

    The Outlaws trailed 4-1 early in the game, but thanks to some big-time hitting and pitching they came back and won.

    Andre Jackson, CJ Cepicky and Own Bond all earned themselves an RBI. Matthew Persinger had two RBI’s in the win.

    Sullivan Lane earned the win after going; 6.0 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 8 strikeouts. Lucas Vanlanduit earned the save striking out one batter in one inning and didn’t allow a hit.

    The Outlaws fell in the second game by a score of 3-2.

    They are now 16-14 on the season. Their next game will be at home on Tuesday (July 2) when they host the Sherman Shadowcats.
