FLINT, Mich. (WANE) – Fort Wayne FC earned their first postseason win in thrilling fashion after surviving a penalty kick shootout against Midwest United FC on Friday.

After regulation and extra time, the two sides were stuck in a 0-0 stalemate. Despite trailing Midwest United in the penalty kick shootout, Aurie Briscoe made two saves over the final three kicks to send Fort Wayne FC to the round of 16.

Fort Wayne FC will face the host Flint City Bucks in a rematch of last year’s playoff showdown. Last year, the Bucks eliminated Fort Wayne on a last-second goal in the program’s playoff debut at Bishop D’Arcy Stadium.
