LAS VEGAS (WANE) – From the Highlight Zone, to one of basketball’s biggest stages. Fort Wayne native Keion Brooks Jr. made a strong lasting impression in the New Orleans Pelicans’ final outing in the NBA Summer League.

The former North Side standout dropped a team-high 24 points off the bench in New Orleans’ 91-82 loss on Saturday. Brooks Jr. also added four rebounds, three assists and four blocks.

Brooks Jr. signed with the Pelicans as an undrafted free agent following this year’s NBA Draft. The Fort Wayne native began his college basketball career at the University of Kentucky before playing his final two seasons at the University of Washington.
