Dallas-Fort Worth ranked as one of the hottest housing ZIP codes in the U.S.

You can get a lot of bang for your buck when house searching in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, but space may go fast.

DFW ranked among the top 50 hottest zip codes in the US, a study by Realtor.com found.

“The hottest areas are those that have high demand from buyers, in other words, lots of unique viewers per each property listed for sale, and fast-selling homes, an indicator of limited supply,” the company said. “Rankings are based on an algorithm that takes into account two aspects of the housing market: market demand and the pace of the market as measured by the number of days a listing remains active on Realtor.com.”

DFW ranked at No. 37 on the list with 2.1 viewers per property, 25 median days on the market, and a 425,000 median listing price from January to June.

The study also found that the hottest ZIP codes saw a huge increase in viewership from home shoppers in large metro areas, and buyers in these zip codes typically have better credit than the national average.

Ghana, Ohio, ranked as the No. 1 hottest on the list, followed by Ballwin, Missouri, and Salem, Massachusetts.
