FORT WORTH (KDAF) — The Fort Worth restaurant, Reata , closed its doors in Sundance Square on Sunday night, after more than two decades of serving the community. But don’t worry, loyal patrons—this isn’t the end of the road for the Texas-style establishment. Reata is relocating to Throckmorton Street, marking a full-circle moment for the restaurant.

Throckmorton Street was the restaurant’s home until a tornado in 2000 necessitated a move to Sundance Square. Now, with their lease in Sundance Square not renewed, Reata sees this relocation as a return to its roots and a chance to reconnect with its previous location.

For Micallef and his family, who first opened Reata in Alpine, Texas, this move is more than just a change of address—it’s a nostalgic journey back to where it all began. As they prepare to open their doors on Throckmorton Street, Reata promises to continue offering the same authentic Texas hospitality and cuisine that has made it a beloved fixture in Fort Worth’s culinary scene.

So, while we say goodbye to Reata in Sundance Square, let’s await the next chapter as Reata sets its sights on a nostalgic journey to serve at a cherished locale.
