    The Sour Boule bakery-cafe, an overnight success that gained a fast following for sandwiches and sourdough breads, will move next door to a much larger location, the bakery announced Monday on social media.

    The Sour Boule, now in a former kolache shop at 3701 Southwest Blvd. on the Benbrook Traffic Circle, will move next door into part of the cavernous space that was once Edelweiss German Restaurant, 3801 Southwest Blvd.

    “No, we didn’t take the ENTIRE space. Just 1/3 of it,” the bakery posted.

    “ ... Yes, we are terrified. But you can’t grow if you stay comfortable.”

    Baker Alexis Misner had been selling breads and desserts at farmers’ markets before the cafe opened last September.

    Patrons leaving social media reviews recommend the rosemary-garlic sourdough or bagels, the sea salt-chocolate chip cookies and avocado toast.

    The restaurant offers breakfast sandwiches and tacos, soups and a variety of sandwiches, including one made on pickle slices instead of bread. The beverages include coffees, espressos, matcha teas and lotus energy drinks.

    The new restaurant is the latest to join a west-side strip with a recent explosion of new restaurants:

    ▪ Heirloom Garden Cafe, a garden and patio lunch cafe inside Archie’s Gardenland, 6700 Z Boaz Place;

    ▪ A new location of contest-winning Enchiladas Ole, 6473 Camp Bowie Blvd.;

    ▪ Local burger and chicken-fried steak favorite Fred’s Texas Cafe, 7101 Camp Bowie West Blvd.;

    ▪ Papi’s Tacos & More, an expansion of a Kentucky taqueria at 3520 Alta Mere Drive;

    ▪ A new location of Dallas-based Rockfish Seafood, 6333 Camp Bowie Blvd.;

    ▪ The newish JD’s Hamburgers. 9901 Camp Bowie West Blvd.;

    ▪ And a forthcoming reopening of Margie’s Italian Gardens, a 70-year landmark at 9805 Camp Bowie West Blvd.
