Ghosts haunt Fort Worth Stockyards at night, some say. Now you can help hunt them down.

If there’s something strange in the Stockyards, who you gonna call?

Not the Ghostbusters, but Cowtown Winery.

Whether you’re afraid of ghosts or not, Cowtown Winery has been offering spooky walking tours since 2010 that show a different side of the Fort Worth Stockyards. In June, the winery started offering an “ VIP After Dark Paranormal Experience ” that takes ghost hunting to the next level.

“This tour is for locals, built by locals,” said Destiny Briones, the general manager of the winery in Mule Alley. “The goal is to not only explore the winery and investigate the spirits here, but we have a couple of select locations that we’ve scouted out and done some in-depth research into.”

The After Dark Paranormal Experience guides 10 guests at a time around the winery and parts of the Stockyards with electromagnetic field sensors, energy detectors and night vision cameras. Briones and a tour guide, Rose Valenzuela, help guests learn how to use the tools.

“You are actually going to, if you haven’t already, learn how to try to contact the spirits or speak to the spirits and capture the activity like a ghost show,” Valenzuela said.

One such spirit could be a ghostly figure that some say is a worker who vanished during a fire in the early 1900s.

Valenzuela knows the history of the Stockyards and has worked for the winery for over a year giving tours. In 2024, they decided they needed to expand on the tours.

The After Dark Paranormal Experience is ages 17 and up tickets cost $50 .
