TCU head coach Sonny Dykes and his staff are on a roll on the recruiting trail, and right now, they're building some major momentum by stealing their rival's recruits.
All is fair in love, war and on the recruiting trail, so kudos to TCU for landing its second flip commitment this week. The first was four-star quarterback Adam Schobel from Columbus, Texas, who decommited from Oklahoma State in favor of the Horned Frogs. Schobel is the No. 19 quarterback in the 2025 class, per the 247Sports Composite.
Now, it's three-star defensive lineman Brody Whatley from Monroe, Louisiana. Whatley was committed to Baylor, but now he's riding with TCU.
“First off I just want to thank God for putting me in this position to be able to play football at the next level and having that opportunity with Baylor, I appreciate everything that staff has done for me and sacrificed for me and I am grateful they gave me that opportunity. I appreciate coach Aranda and coach Nokes for everything and trusting in me as a football player. Taking everything into perspective I feel like this is the best option for me and my family. Respect my decision,” Whatley wrote on X (h/t On3 ).
He then quickly announced his commitment to TCU:
Whatley checks in at 6-foot-5, 250 pounds, so he'll certainly bring a ton to the table for TCU. He had 12 offers to his name, a list that also includes Nebraska, Missouri, Arkansas and SMU, among others.
Dykes' 2025 class now has 21 commitments, and it's ranked in the top 25 nationally .
