Man accused of scamming Minnesota woman out of +$100,000 gold bars, cash
WARREN, MINN. (Valley News Live) - A man in Pennsylvania has been arrested, accused of scamming a Minnesota woman out of more than $100,000 in gold bars and cash. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office says they first received information from an officer in McKinney, Texas about Mutahir Ahmed Kahm.
City of Rochester sends out survey to improve city
ROCHESTER, Minn. - The City of Rochester is looking to see how to make it a better town and that's why they're having a National Community Survey where residents can respond. This week they sent out postcards to 4,200 households in Rochester. They'll have 10 categories of questions and some questions include: Safety, Natural Environment and Mobility. On Aug.11-25 it will be available for everyone on the National Community Survey page.

Legion Baseball Substate Tournaments Continue Over the Weekend
(KWMN)- The Rushford Legion Jr. and Sr. teams as well as the Winona LeJetz continue their Legion Baseball substate tournaments today and over the weekend if all goes well. For the Rushford Post 94 Jr. team, they were dealt a shocking blow in the opening round of substate. Chatfield scored four runs in the opening inning and the Post 94 juniors couldn’t find the comeback. They now move to the loser’s bracket of the substate tournament, where they’ll face St. Charles later tonight. From here on out it’s win or go home. They will play Monday with a win, and potentially having a double header on Tuesday before the substate final on Aug. 1st, if they win out.

The state Legislature has formed a study committee to discuss possible reforms and restructuring of the Universities of Wisconsin. The committee includes four state lawmakers, two Republicans and two Democrats, and 14 other members, including business leaders, professors, and current and former administrators, selected by the Legislature’s Republican leadership.
