Homes were evacuated Thursday night as a large brush fire spread to 3,200 acres in north Scottsdale near the Boulder Heights community. MCSO deputy injured after responding to call in Sun City
SUN CITY, Ariz. — A Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputy was injured Friday after responding to a call about a possibly suicidal subject. The deputy was able to calm the person down when he arrived at the scene, near Bell Road and 99th Avenue, and was working on getting the person some resources and assistance.

PHOENIX — A teenage suspect in the death of Queen Creek teen Preston Lord was sentenced to probation Friday in two additional assault cases. Jacob Meisner, who is one of the teen suspects facing first-degree murder charges in the 2023 death of 16-year-old Lord, was sentenced by a judge in Maricopa County juvenile court to probation for his role in two separate cases of assault involving other teens.
