Man asks farmworkers if he could help before shooting at them in Fresno County, deputies say
A man has been arrested after deputies say he shot at farmworkers while they were working in Fresno County.Deputies say it happened on West Shields Avenue near Yuba Avenue, northwest of Kerman.Authorities say a man asked farmworkers if he could help and then started shooting at them.None of the farmworkers were hit, and they hid in a shop while deputies searched for the suspect in the field.The man was eventually found and taken into custody.A motive for the attack has not yet been released.

Fresno man sentenced for murder, robbery and carjacking
A man convicted of murder, armed robbery and carjacking has learned how long he will stay behind bars.45-year-old David Hernandez was sentenced Tuesday morning to 40 years to life in prison for second-degree murder with a gun.He was also sentenced to an additional 27 years and six months for robbery, carjacking and attempted carjacking.Hernandez shot and killed Sarah Hamm in her northeast Fresno apartment in August of 2021.Investigators say the two knew each other.He also robbed a store clerk at gunpoint and stole a car on the same day.
