Sunshine, milder summer temperatures hang around

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Good Sunday morning, if you have liked the past few days of weather, enjoy because the window is closing. Highs in the 80s ... low humidity ... sunshine ... lows in the 60s ... are we positive this is Mid-August in the Mid-South?!

Well ... it changes right back to the low 90s with triple digit heat by Tuesday. This continues through the week into the weekend. I think we will be close to heat alerts in many counties but at this time don't expect widespread alerts.

Rain chances are finally back, although they aren't very significant. We are looking at the possibility of isolated rain and storm chances Tuesday on.

• Highs back in the 90s with higher humidity
• Heat index above 100 degrees from Tuesday on

HERE IS THE FORECAST: SUNDAY: Highs in the 80s with a mixture of sun and clouds. Humidity remains lower. High of 86 degrees. Winds NE 5-10 mph.

MONDAY: Sunny and warm. Highs in the middle to upper 80s with lower humidity. No chance of rain. High of 87 degrees. Winds E 5-10mph.

TUESDAY: Sunny and turning hot. Highs in the lower 90s during the afternoon. The clouds will increase and a few scattered showers will be possible. High of 93 degrees. Winds S 5-10mph. WEDNESDAY: Sunny and hot. Highs in the lower 90s with a heat index in the triple digits. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms possible during the afternoon and early evening. High of 92 degrees. Winds S 5-10mph.
