    Little Rock police arrest suspect in connection with June deadly shooting

    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock police said they have made an arrest tied to a shooting in June that left a woman dead.

    Little Rock Police Department officials said they arrested 21-year-old Nemiah Woods in connection with the shooting.

    Little Rock police investigating Sunday afternoon homicide

    On June 23, the LRPD said officers responded to a shooting call at 2:47 p.m. near the 500 block of East 22nd Street.

    When the officers arrived, they said they found 22-year-old Makylia Matthews suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The officers said they attempted life-saving measures, but Matthews died at the scene.

    Authorities said Woods was taken into custody on Wednesday and is facing a charge of capital murder. He is currently being held in the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility without bond.

    LRPD officials said the investigation into the shooting is still ongoing.
