ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Another person has been charged after a child overdosed through meth exposure earlier this week.

St. Louis County Police charged 34-year-old Danelle Woodard with endangering the welfare of a child. Her husband, 40-year-old Christopher Woodard, was charged Wednesday with endangering the welfare of a child, along with unlawful use of a weapon.

According to a probable cause statement, police learned of the overdose around 8 p.m. Tuesday, responding to a home in the 2300 block of Battlefield Dr. in Florissant to offer aid to the child.

Investigators say the child tested positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl.

While speaking with authorities, Christopher admitted to using meth with Danelle in their bedroom before placing a 1-year-old child in the bed, per the probable cause statement. Authorities later discovered a jar of a crystal-like substance in the bedroom, later identified as meth.

While Danelle was being arrested, police found a white capsule, which matched what authorities discovered on the couple’s bedroom floor. She stated that the pill was fentanyl. Investigators also found a handgun lying on the bed.

The child was admitted to the PICU. The Missouri Children’s Division has been given custody of the victim and sibling.

Danelle and Woodard are both being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
