Berryhill students return to class Wednesday morning

BERRYHILL, Okla. — Berryhill Public Schools started the new school year at 8 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Parents walked their students up, hand-in-hand, as school staff greeted them.

New this school year, Berryhill Schools won't be using Class Dojo or School Messenger but instead, Wengage App.

Parents and students should have gotten an e-mail with all the details of the new district communication system.

The communication app will be used pre-k through 12th grade.

Maresha Walker, principal of South Elementary, said she is excited about this year and the district is doing something unique for the students.

"We have motivational assemblies and we can't wait to kick that off with our students to motivate them to become better readers,” said Walker.

The Early Childhood Center classes start Aug. 19.
