Man found dead on Spring Valley highway: CHP

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — California Highway Patrol are investigating after a man was found dead on a Spring Valley highway early Tuesday, authorities report.

Officers with the California Highway Patrol El Cajon office responded to reports of a person lying in the road on State Route 94 in Spring Valley at 3:35 a.m. Tuesday.

CHP says officers found a man wearing a motorcycle helmet surrounded by motorcycle fragments from what appeared to be an accident, however there was no motorcycle found in the area.

First responders attempted life-saving measures on the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to CHP, the investigation so far points to the man crashing after traveling east on SR-94, east of Sweetwater Springs Boulevard. However the circumstances of the accident are still under investigation.

The California Highway Patrol El Cajon office is asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to call their office at 619-401-2000.
