KENTUCKY ( FOX 56 ) — Former Gov. Matt Bevin’s adopted son, who allegedly became a ward of Jamacia, has returned to the U.S. but not to the Bevin family.

A London Times investigation took an unexpected turn, revealing that former Gov. Matt Bevin’s adopted son was one of the three boys left behind at a Jamaican troubled-teen boarding school.

Former Gov. Bevin’s adopted son allegedly became ward of Jamaica after troubled-teen program disbands

Bevin’s adopted son, now 17 years old, is part of an international spectacle after he and seven other boys were removed from the Atlantis Leadership Academy (ALA) in Jamaica. A July 13 London Times article detailed the “abusive” conditions that allegedly led to staff arrests and ultimately captured the attention of the hotel heiress Paris Hilton.

Hilton, herself “ripped from her bed in the middle of the night” and promised “healing, growth, and support” in a program similar to ALA, attended the boys’ court hearings that ultimately left Bevin’s adopted son in the custody of Jamacia.

After Hilton brought her experience in the troubled teen industry to light, she founded 11:11 Media Impact to “defend the rights of children and women worldwide.” FOX 56 reached out to 11:11 Media Impact for an update on the boys’ status following the hearings.

“11:11 Media Impact has been diligently working to protect and advocate on behalf of the American boys removed from Atlantis Leadership Academy in Jamaica. These boys, including Former Governor Bevin’s son, were taken into the custody of Jamaica after experiencing horrific abuse and have since been returned to the United States, and placed in alternative more appropriate placements. It is our understanding that Noah is safe and we will continue to look out for the welfare of all children who experience institutional child abuse and neglect.”

In the London Times article, all of the children’s names have been changed to aliases due to their age.  However, it details one boy called Noah’s relationship with his adoptive father, the former governor of Kentucky.

FOX 56 also spoke with Randall Cook, director and founder of ALA.

    LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

“In the spirit of just sincere humanity, the Bevins did not and were not responsible for what hell on earth was thrown on their family by Paris Hilton and her conspirators, regardless of any politics, this isn’t right. And to be honest, we did not care, nor do we today that he was a politician. That is not our wheelhouse. We treat every family the same,” Cook said.

Cook went on to claim that the Bevins are victims of Hilton’s media “agenda.”

FOX 56 has reached out to Bevin and his attorney for a statement but has yet to receive a response.
