First responder equipment company raises money for Winchester firefighter recovering from brain tumor

HAZEL GREEN, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A mighty outfitter for first responders was able to help a firefighter in need on Tuesday with a major donation.

On Tuesday, the Winchester Fire Department (WFD) posted on Facebook around 9:30 a.m. that a Lion Apparel warehouse in Hazel Green organized a raffle in the company’s facility and made gift baskets for community members.

The raffle and gift baskets were made in support of Logan Crigler, who underwent surgery to remove a 1.5-inch brain tumor in June .

The WFD said Chief Whitely made the drive to Hazel Green on Tuesday to receive the donation in person and to thank Lion Apparel in person for the generosity of the training equipment supplier.

“Chief Whiteley had the privilege of visiting their facility and retrieving those donations in person, thanking everyone at Lion Apparel for their generosity and efforts. We are so grateful for the compassion and thoughtfulness shown by this team, from the WFD family we want to say a BIG thank you to the folks at Lion Apparel for going above and beyond,” said the WFD on Facebook.

According to the fire department, Lion Apparel raised over $1,200 in donations, which will go directly to Logan Crigler’s family.
