PULASKI COUNTY, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Two men and a woman were charged on Tuesday after a shooting in Pulaski County led to another woman being taken to the hospital.

It happened when a man and woman were driving on Highway 192 in the area of 192 Market and Dollar General in Somerset. According to the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO), someone in a “dark colored hatchback” allegedly shot the victims’ car multiple times, hitting the woman in the shoulder. Authorities said the man driving the victim’s car was not hit by gunfire.

The sheriff’s office determined that 49-year-old Asa Simpson, 24-year-old Christian Helton, and 20-year-old Bralyn Greer were all in the dark-colored hatchback that allegedly fired at the victims.

Authorities said Simpson “had his vehicle stolen and was going to Highway 192 to find it.” Helton had told Simpson he knew where the allegedly stolen car was and took Simpson and Greer to find it.

When the three suspects found the car, it was allegedly being driven down Highway 192. Law enforcement said in an attempt to stop the allegedly stolen car, Simspon, Helton, and Greer shot at it.

“While attempting to get the vehicle to stop, one or more of the occupants of the suspect vehicle fired multiple rounds into the victim’s vehicle,” the PCSO said.

Court documents showed that after the shooting, the victims drove to a home in the area of James Meece Road. Emergency personnel were dispatched just before 1:30 a.m. to take the woman who had been shot to UK Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
