Kentucky man indicted for allegedly running dog-fighting ring

LOUISVILLE, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A Kentucky man has been indicted for allegedly running a dog fighting ring in Louisville.

In June, the Louisville Metro Police Department said Kareem Garner was arrested after an investigation indicated he was operating a dog fighting ring.

LMPD said Garner was “prolific” in dog fighting and was well-known in the underground scene.

After a search warrant, four dogs were seized from Garner’s home on the 1300 block of Lillian. LMPD said the dogs were in terrible condition, living in “feces-infested” kennels or in “leg-high” mud.

LMPD also reported confiscating supplements, medications, weighted collars, scales, carpet mills, dog fighting paperwork, spring poles, and other “evidence indicative of dog fighting.”

Police said the arrest was thanks to an anonymous tip.

Garner was indicted on Wednesday on four counts of second-degree cruelty to animals and four counts of dog fighting violation, according to court documents. His arraignment is scheduled for Monday.
