JENKINS, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — Kentucky officials are warning people that fake cash is circulating.

Jenkins City Hall said “movie money” is circulating in Jenkins and has passed as actual legal tender, with a business in Jenkins already falling victim.

    LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

Officials say businesses and individuals should examine cash, especially $20 bills, and ensure it is actual U.S. legal tender.

The money is described as having text stating, “for motion picture use or purposes,” where “United States of America” should be, and the back reads “In Prop We Trust,” where “In God We Trust” usually appears.

Jenkins City Hall said the fake money can feel thinner than actual money.

    LATEST KENTUCKY LISTS AND RANKINGS:

Anyone who receives fake money should contact law enforcement, and authorities ask anyone with the prop money to ensure they aren’t intermingling the fake and real money.
