Forget Rookie of the Year; It's Caitlin Clark vs. A'ja Wilson for MVP

Jason and Mike react to Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever taking down Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky 100-81. While much has been made of the WNBA's Rookie of the Year race between Clark and Reese, Jason and Mike aren't fooled: the race is over -- Clark won a long time ago. Jason takes it a step farther, though, claiming that Clark has not only locked down the Rookie of the Year award; she's neck-and-neck with A'ja Wilson for the league MVP.

Jason Smith: "Look, right now, let's be honest, the rookie of the year race is over. That'll do it... Right now it's a two-person race for WNBA MVP: it's A'ja Wilson vs. Caitlin Clark, and it's closer than you think. I'm not saying [Clark] has passed Wilson -- A'ja Wilson is the best player in the league -- but we're talking about MVP, which is an award for 'what did you do to help your team?' It's not player of the year; that's not the same thing... Most Valuable Player is for who's raising their team up at a higher level. There's a huge argument you can make that with what Caitlin Clark is doing, her value this year to the Fever is a bigger value [than Wilson's to the Aces]... This is a closer race than you think and it's really between these two for it."
