DENVER ( KDVR ) — The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said deputies gave out 33 speeding tickets in the Perry Park area on Saturday alone, according to a post on social media.

The sheriff’s office said it was “cracking down on speeders and reckless drivers” after several recent crashes in the area.

“We tried to warn you…!” the post on X said.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office had posted a warning on Friday that deputies would be “out in full force” on Perry Park Road for the next several weekends, and that it was taking a zero-tolerance approach.

In that announcement, Douglas County shared a photo where a driver was allegedly going 101 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Speed limits in the area range from 35 mph to 50 mph. Photos of some of Saturday’s stops were shared alongside the post, with vehicles allegedly clocking in at speeds between 50 mph and 73 mph.

“Please remember to watch your speed and drive safely!” the post said.

The penalties for being caught speeding in Colorado range from $30 for going one to four mph over the speed limit to a minimum $150 fine and 10 days in jail for going 25 mph or more over the speed limit.
