DENVER (KDVR) — A man was arrested Wednesday when deputies caught him in the act loading allegedly stolen cases of energy drinks into a car.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a Target store in Highlands Ranch after a report of a man leaving the store with a cart full of stolen detergent.

The sheriff’s office said the suspect left the area before he could load the items in his car.

However, it wasn’t long before deputies spotted the suspect’s car at a King Soopers store nearby. There, the sheriff’s office said the suspect stole “several cases of energy drinks and was literally loading them into his trunk when we contacted him.”
