Man shot, killed near Colfax and Havana

DENVER (KDVR) — A man was shot and killed in Aurora Saturday afternoon.

The Aurora Police Department said it responded to the scene of a shooting near Colfax Avenue and Havana Street just after 2 p.m.

Upon arrival, the sheriff’s office said deputies found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital and died from his injuries shortly after.

Police are now searching for the suspect.

“The suspect fled the scene and has not yet been apprehended. We believe this was a targeted event and the suspect and victim know each other,” Aurora police said.

Investigators don’t yet know what led up to the shooting. Police said the Arapaho County Coroner’s Office will identify the man.
