KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Wednesday night’s edition of “NFL Live” announced that Patrick Mahomes has once again won the Best NFL Player award at the ESPYS.

This is Mahomes’ third time winning the award, as he won the award after his breakout 2018-2019 season and again in 2022-2023.

Kansas City Chiefs pack up at Arrowhead for training camp in St. Joseph

The Chiefs quarterback beat out San Fransico 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, and Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Myles Garrett to win the award.

While the 2023-2024 season wasn’t Mahomes’ best statistical season, he led the Chiefs to its third Super Bowl victory in just five years. Mahomes threw for 4,183 yards and completed 67% of his passes, finishing the season with a 10-6 record.

Mahomes and the Chiefs are still on the board for other ESPYS as well. Mahomes is nominated in the Best Athlete category (men’s sports), and the Chiefs are also nominated for the Best Team award. If Mahomes wins the Best Athlete award, he’ll join a group of sports icons like Lebron James and Tiger Woods, all before turning 30.

The complete award show, hosted by tennis legend Serena Williams, will be on Thursday, July 11 on ABC at 7 p.m. CST.
