    Police identify three killed in multi-car crash at 35th, Norton in KC

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Police Department has identified the three individuals killed in a multi-car crash on Tuesday, Aug. 13 in Kansas City, Mo.

    According to KCPD, 16-year-old Donelle Morris, 37-year-old Reginald Smith and 32-year-old Myesha S. Gentry were all killed in the crash that involved a stolen Kia near 35th Street and Norton Avenue .

    Morris was the driver of the Kia at the time of the crash, Smith was a front-seat passenger and Gentry was a second-row, left-side passenger.

    Five others were also in the car and suffered serious injuries, including a man and four children under the age of 13.

    The original report from KCPD said that a Kia was speeding eastbound on 35th and crashed into an SUV making a left turn.

    Morris and Smith died at the scene, and Gentry was taken to a hospital where she died the following day.

    According to KCPD, the Kia had been pulled over by an officer prior to the crash, but as he exited his vehicle, Morris drove off in the stolen car. Police said they did not chase after it.

    KCPD said this is fatal accident 59 compared to 56 at this time last year.
