KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Longtime Royals star Salvador Pérez took the time to stop and play some wiffleball with kids in a KCK neighborhood on Thursday, August 22.

Photos and videos sent to FOX4 by Lesley Lard show Pérez laughing with the neighborhood kids while rounding the bases. The game took place in a Piper neighborhood yard.

According to MLB.com , Salvy was driving through the neighborhood when he saw 9-year-old Cameron Lard and his friends playing a game of wiffleball. He stopped his car and shouted, “Hey, can I play?”

The nine-time all-star will suit up at catcher tonight against the Philadelphia Phillies at Kauffman Stadium. The Royals are in the hunt for the 2024 playoffs, tied with the Twins in the second AL Wild Card spot.
