Community Blood Center asking for blood donations ahead of Labor Day

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Community Blood Center is asking people to donate blood ahead of Labor Day weekend, and they are offering a chance at a prize for patrons who participate.

The center says they often see a decrease in blood donations due to vacations, end-of-summer activities and the beginning of the school year.

“We often see a drop in donations around Labor Day, but the demand for blood doesn’t take a holiday,” Jennifer Kaluza, Executive Director at Community Blood Center said. “We encourage all who are eligible to take just an hour of their time to donate blood and make a huge impact on the lives of patients in our community.”

To make things more enticing, people who donate from Wednesday, Aug. 28 to Wednesday, Sept. 4, will be entered to win a $3,000 Target gift card.

All Community Blood Center locations are participating, making it more convenient for people to participate in the sweepstakes.
