According to a recent analysis by personal finance website WalletHub , Florida leads the country, followed by California and Nevada.

California is the second-most fun state, scoring highly for having a large number of restaurants, amusement parks, movie theaters and fitness centers per capita.

For people who enjoy nightlife, they would be pleased to learn the Golden State is the sixth-least expensive for wine thanks in part to local production. California also has the second-most attractions per capita.

Nevada tops out the three most fun U.S. states due in large part to its nightlife, analysts say. It has the most nightlife per capita, including music festivals and casinos. Bars are also accessible 24/7 in Nevada.

Aside from the partying scene, Nevada also spends more money on parks and recreation than any other state except three (Colorado, North Dakota and Wyoming), and has the second-best weather in the U.S.

To come up with the rankings, WalletHub compared all 50 states in the key categories of “Entertainment and Recreation” and “Nightlife.” You can view the full list here .

The categories were broken down into 26 metrics, including number of attractions, ideal weather, nightlife options per capita, average beer and wine prices, movie costs and others, and graded on a 100-point scale. Analysts then gathered each state’s weighted average across all metrics to calculate an overall score, which was used to determine their ranking.
