(FOX40.COM) — Davis Police have arrested five suspects and are searching for one more in connection with several “unprovoked” attacks earlier this year against people, some of whom were experiencing homelessness.

Police said that the group of attackers included two adults and four minors and that all were involved in an attack late at night on March 29.

The investigation of that attack led police to connect some of the suspects to other similar attacks earlier in the year.

In the March 29 attack, two people were assaulted near 2nd and F Streets by five to six suspects. Police reviewed surveillance footage to get clearer pictures of the suspects and a license plate for a vehicle they were in.

With other law enforcement agencies’ help, police identified all six suspects and determined that three other unreported assaults happened in Davis by some of the same suspects.

Police said that on Jan. 4, at least one of the suspects attacked a man in a city parking garage on F St. On March 23, one of the adult suspects and two of the minors attacked a man near 5th and L Streets.

Later that same night, two other men were attacked in the same garage as the attack from January.

Police said that three of the minors were arrested for conspiracy and assault-related charges. They were booked and released on notices to appear.

Another minor was arrested for conspiracy, battery, assault with a deadly weapon and assault resulting in great bodily injury. He was booked into the Yolo County Juvenile Detention Facility.

One of the adult suspects was arrested for conspiracy, battery, assault with a deadly weapon and grand theft.

The remaining suspect is still being sought in connection with the attack on March 29. He is identified as Jailen Marseean Samuel Lakford. Police ask anyone with information about him to call 530-758-3600 or 911.
