INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced a new round of lane restrictions that are set to affect motorists who plan to travel on I-465 southbound on the east side of Marion County starting Thursday night.

According to an INDOT release, traffic on the two right lanes of I-465 southbound will be restricted between 71 Street and U.S. 36, with crews shutting down the I-465 southbound to U.S. 36 ramp.

The temporary restrictions are set to go into effect on Aug. 22 around 9 p.m., with INDOT expecting work to be completed by Aug. 23 at 6 a.m.

Later on Aug. 23, INDOT said crews will also restrict the two right lanes of I-465 southbound between 71 Street and U.S. 36 with crews closing the I-465 southbound to Pendleton Pike ramp. This is expected to be complete by Aug. 26 at 6 a.m.

Detours will be available on Shadeland Avenue and Pendleton Pike for motorists still wishing to access I-465 southbound.

These restrictions will enable crews to complete pavement restoration with bridge deck patching and joint repairs also taking place.

Motorists are advised to check 511.org for the latest updates.
