Hamilton County holds emergency services functional exercise

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. — Hamilton County Local Emergency Planning Committee met this week for their 2024 functional exercise.

The operations-based exercise, held Thursday morning, combined fire departments, dispatch, hospitals and other local agencies to work together for the scenario.

Over 80 key players took part, including surrounding counties like Marion and Hendricks. This year’s training focused on a real-time response to hazardous materials incident.

Following the three-and-a-half-hour exercise, participants discussed the ways they can improve their response times for the residents of Hamilton County.
