    Woman killed in stabbing on Indy’s west side

    INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a woman was killed in a reported stabbing on Indy’s west side Saturday morning.

    According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just after 1 a.m., officers were called to the 6700 block of West 15th Street on the report of a person stabbed.

    When officers arrived, they located a female with trauma to her body. She was pronounced dead, according to police.

    The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified her as 22-year-old Alexis Nicole Gossett and ruled her death a homicide.

    Officers detained a person of interest on scene, and detectives believe all parties involved have been identified.
