Docs: Man arrested after molesting boy

ELWOOD, Ind. — An Elwood man was arrested after reportedly molesting a boy, according to court documents.

John A. Rady, 62, was charged with one count of child molest, a Level 1 Felony.

Officers were dispatched on July 27 in Elwood on a report that a boy had runaway to his friend’s house because a man raped him. Upon hearing the report, officers spoke to the boy and began searching for Rady.

Rady was found a short time later near train tracks. He said the victim made the story up. However, when speaking with police, he allegedly said, “this had supposedly had happened two or three years ago.”

The victim also said that the incidents occurred approximately two years ago when interviewed separately. The victim said the molestations happened around 10 times over the years.
