WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A Winston-Salem woman faces involuntary manslaughter and neglect charges following the death of a man, according to a Winston-Salem Police Department news release.

On Sept. 17, 2023, Winston-Salem officers responded to an unknown trouble call for service in the 800 Block of Wilmington Court.

Arriving officers found Michael Steven Parks, Jr., 29, of Winston-Salem, dead inside of the house.

At the time of the initial call, there was no evidence of foul play. The case remained open until autopsy results were received.

After receiving the autopsy results earlier this year and investigating further, detectives with the WSPD obtained warrants for arrest on Tuesday morning.

Pamela Linville Parks 69, of Winston-Salem was charged with involuntary manslaughter and neglect of a disabled adult in a domestic setting causing serious injury.

She turned herself in and received a $500,000 unsecured bond.
