GIBSONVILLE, N.C. (WGHP) — Officials are continuing to search for a woman who went missing from Guilford County.

On Wednesday, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office updated that they are continuing to look for Gwen Jenell Collins, who was last seen on Aug. 9 on Bellflower Road in Gibsonville.

“We would like to express our deepest gratitude for the community’s continued support and assistance. If you see something that may help in locating Ms. Collins, please do not hesitate to say something,” the sheriff’s office said. “Every piece of information could make a significant difference.”

They also thanked assisting agencies such as the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, Greensboro Fire Department, Guilford County Fire and Rescue, Guilford County Emergency Management, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Searchers are worried she may have slipped and fallen into the Reedy Fork Tributary due to her vision being impaired by cataracts, and their early searches were impeded by high water levels in the area.

“I love her, and I miss her, and I wish it wasn’t like this,” said Rhonda Collins, Gwen’s daughter.

Ronald Collins, her husband, said she celebrated her birthday last week. At this time, their family is continuing to hope for the best.

If you have information regarding Collins, please contact Detective Shanks at 336-641-5966 or Guilford County Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
