1 shot at Hanes Mall during fight, 1 arrested, Winston-Salem police say

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — Officers responded to a shooting call at Hanes Mall on Wednesday, according to a Winston-Salem Police Department news release.

Around 3:30 p.m., arriving officers found a 42-year-old Rural Hall man outside of the mall who had been shot. He was taken to a hospital.

Officers found the suspect, Angelo Addie Reid, 22, of Winston-Salem, on Silas Creek Parkway. He was then taken into custody.

Police say a fight inside the mall led to the suspect shooting the victim.

This was an isolated incident.

Hanes Mall was on lockdown, but the lockdown has been lifted. The only portion that is closed is the entrance next to Dave and Busters where there is still a heavy police presence.

The investigation is ongoing.
