    2 teenagers charged in murder of woman in North Carolina, warrants show

    WENDELL, N.C. (WNCN) — Two teenagers from Wake County are accused of fatally shooting a woman in Wendell in late June.

    Kahlil Hahson Atkinson, 18, of Raleigh and Xavier Donameche Atkinson, 19, of Knightdale are both charged with first-degree murder, according to warrants. They were arrested Tuesday in connection with the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Serenity Spencer.

    Spencer was found with a gunshot wound in the 7000 block of Hodge Road on the evening of June 30. She succumbed to her injuries at the hospital the following morning.

    According to court records, Xavier Atkinson has a scheduled court date on Wednesday afternoon and has not been given a bond. As of Tuesday night, Kahlil Atkinson does not yet have a scheduled court date on the first-degree murder charge and his bond information is unknown.

    It is unclear if Kahlil Atkinson and Xavier Atkinson are related.
