The improvement project will also include the reconstruction of U.S. 127 in the area of Westridge Drive and U.S. 127, and the “installation of a new signalized intersection on U.S. 127 to provide access to development entrances, which will be activated following project completion.”

Preliminary work will start on Monday, and KTC officials said drivers can expect “changing traffic patterns, lane shifts, and closures” in the area of U.S. 127 exit ramps to I-64 as work progresses. Nightly traffic pattern changes and weekend lane changes are also possible.

According to a news release, ATS Construction of Lexington was awarded the nearly $4 million contract to carry out the project which is set to be completed in the summer of 2025.
