    Suspected arson attempt damages sign, portable toilet at Gambrill State Park

    Someone attempted to burn a portable toilet and park sign at the Gambrill State Park in Frederick on Monday, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office.

    At about 12:45 a.m., someone burned the inside of a plastic portable toilet and park sign at the state park’s trailhead with an open flame, according to the notice. The burning, which a passerby discovered, caused an estimated $1,000 in damage, the notice said.
