Humane Society for Tacoma & Pierce County offers 'name your price' promotion amid overcrowding at shelter
TACOMA, Wash. — This week the Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County is making it easier for people to get new furry family members. The Tacoma animal shelter has taken in hundreds of animals this month. Now, the shelter is calling on the community to name its price to take the animals up for adoption at the shelter to their new forever home.
Passengers wait for hours at SEA Airport due to global service outages
SEATTLE — Some passengers at the Seattle Tacoma International Airport (SEA) were stuck for hours into Friday morning due to global service outages that grounded planes. The outage stems from a software update by the company CrowdStrike - a cybersecurity firm that provides services to Microsoft. The update included a "defect found in a single content update for Windows hosts," that knocked out access to computer networks all over the globe.

It Seemed Like a Great Idea . . .
Years and years ago it seemed like a good idea installing a water valve just inches from the surface of our wrap around deck. Our teenage son did the installation. We have a number of hose connections for Peg’s flower gardens. As the years have passed, I no longer want to get down on my hands and knees to turn the valves off to reconnect and keep the freezing cold from damaging the connections and breaking the pipes.
