Newhouse crowned Miss Freestone County

Madison Newhouse was crowned Miss Freestone County on Tuesday evening, June 11, at the Miss Freestone County Pageant at the Fairfield High School Auditorium. She won a $750 scholarship and was also named Miss Congeniality.

Newhouse graduated as the Valedictorian of the Wortham High School Class of 2024. She plans to attend The University of Texas at Tyler to obtain her Bachelors in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

Newhouse wants to get her Master’s and become a Pediatric Speech Pathologist. She currently works at Serenity Spa/Madison’s Loft.

At WHS, Newhouse was involved in FCA, National Honor Society, FCCLA, Student Council, Cheer, Band, Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, Golf, and Tennis. She served as the Cheer Co-Captain her junior year and Cheer Captain her senior year.

Gabriella Diaz, who will be a senior at Teague High School, was named 1st Runner-up Miss Freestone County. She won a $500 scholarship.

Diaz also won a $250 scholarship for being the Sponsorship Winner for her division.

In the teen division, Allison Grant was crowned the 2024 Miss Teen Freestone County and won a $750 scholarship. Ava Oakes was named 1st Runner-up Miss Teen Freestone County and won a $500 scholarship. Cariss Capps was named 2nd Runner-up Miss Teen Freestone County.

Brook-Lyn Ansley won a $250 scholarship for being the Sponsorship Winner in her division. Also competing in the teen pageant were Nevaeh Coaster and Gracie Brown.

Haylee West was crowned the 2024 Miss Preteen Freestone County and was also the Sponsorship Winner. Lillian Moore was named the 1st Runner- up Miss Teen Freestone County and Brooke Fisk was named 2nd Runner- up Miss Teen Freestone County.

Also participating in the preteen pageant were Ayleah Duarte, Phoebe Portillo-Hanzelka, Ally Farmer, and Alayjiah Stanford.
