Two separate homicides occurred in Fremont on Saturday

( KRON ) – The Fremont Police Department is investigating two homicides that occurred on Saturday.

Fremont police officers responded to Lake Arrowhead Avenue and Alvardo Boulevard regarding a shooting at 8:55 p.m. on Saturday. Police located a woman who sustained a gunshot wound.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, said Fremont PD.

According to the preliminary investigation, the suspect and the victim knew each other.

This homicide was the second of the day. Fremont PD responded to a fatal shooting that occurred in the area of Blaisdell Way and Nichols Avenue around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
