    15-year-old girl dead after drowning in Fresno pool

    FRESNO, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A 15-year-old is dead after firefighters say she drowned in a Fresno pool on Wednesday. Crews add that a 14-year-old who was with the victim was hospitalized during the same incident.

    Officials with the Fresno Fire Department say they received a call regarding a possible drowning at around 2 p.m. at a home in the area of Purdue Avenue and Ramona Avenue in Fresno.

    Firefighters say two girls, a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old, previously reported by fire officials as a boy and a man, were pulled from the pool in the home. The 15-year-old was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries and the 14-year-old is in stable but critical condition at Valley Children’s Hospital.

    The Fresno Fire Department received assistance from the Clovis Fire Department. The investigation was turned over to the Fresno Police Department.

    This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
